Fairy Penquin Tree Ornament A quality tree decoration designed and crafted in Australia by Matchmates®.  The Fairy Penguin Tree Ornament with small Santa hat is made of plantation pine, milled in Queensland. Fairy Penquins are only found in the Southern Hemisphere preferring the waters along the shores of Southern Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand.  They are the smallest of the penguins, and are also called "Little Blues" because of the indigo-blue and slate-grey colour of their feathers.  Fairy Penguins spend their days hunting for food in shallow waters close to the shore, and at night return to their rock crevice colonies or burrows.  Most Fairy Penguins mate for life with both males and females incubating the eggs and caring for the young.   Size:  10 x 4 cms
